Coronavirus Antibody Tests

Testing Options

Find out if you may have been infected by COVID-19.

Antibody tests can help provide peace of mind for those who may have been previously infected with COVID-19 or who want to see how their body successfully produced spike antibodies after receiving the vaccine. With a variety of options available, ARCpoint Labs of Greenville, SC and Anderson, SC is here to help find the test that fits each situation.

Basic Antibody Test

This test is designed to identify two types of antibodies (IgG/IgM) that play a role in protection from COVID-19. These antibodies may have been created by natural exposure or in some cases by vaccination. Please note this test is not designed to look for spike protein antibodies specifically, therefore if you have been fully vaccinated* a better fit test would be the Immune Response panel which specifically looks for the spike antibodies produced after vaccination.

Immune Response Antibody Test

Including Vaccine Response

The Immune Response Antibody panel is a more in depth test that can help identify patients who have already mounted an immune response against SARS-CoV-2, and differentiate whether that response is likely due to vaccination* or natural infection. This test gives results in two ways.

Provides Qualitative N AB Results

This test measures the nucleocapsid antibody which is only present in those who have been exposed to and recovered from COVID-19.

Provides Spike Protein Quantitative Results

This test measures the body’s spike protein levels which indicates how successful vaccine inoculation was at providing protective antibodies.

* Fully vaccinated meaning equal to or greater than 2 weeks after receipt of second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer BioNTech or Moderna), or equal to or greater than 2 weeks after receipt of the Janssen vaccine. These tests are only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.
